100 Posts In — What Keenan Learned About Creating Content, and the Importance of Personal Brand

In episode twelve, Keenan officially hits 100 days of posting in a row on Instagram and Jared breaks down the lessons Keenan learned. The episode covers Keenan's content creation process: how he batches posts, generates ideas from client problems, and learned by studying what made other people's videos work. They also get into why AI will not replace personal trainers (but might replace the clients who pay for them), and close with advice for anyone sitting on the edge of starting something, like a social media page, a business, a new habit.

TAKEAWAYS

1. Every post should solve a problem. Keenan's rule: if a piece of content does not help someone, it does not get posted. The simplest way to find ideas is to think about the problems your clients, your friends, or your community actually have and answer one of them in 30 seconds or less.

2. Batch your content instead of creating daily. Dedicating blocks of time to creation is how you stay consistent without burning out. A month's worth of posts can be filmed in a few focused sessions.

3. If the post is bad, no one will see it anyway. The fear of putting something imperfect out there is the biggest thing that stops people from starting. But the algorithm filters for you. A bad post just quietly disappears. A good one gets seen. The only way to learn is to post.

4. Long form content sticks, short form mostly does not. You can probably name the last podcast or YouTube video you watched. You almost certainly cannot name the last TikTok you saw. If you want to actually learn something, long form is where the retention is.

5. The question that gets things done: would I regret not doing this? That is the question Keenan used before starting the 100-day streak, before launching the podcast, and before building out his brand. If the answer is yes, that is a signal worth listening to.

I know, not entirely fitness related. But, I think this episode has great insights on consistency and doing things that you might not want to do. But for those who are getting into content creation, this episode provides great insight on the mindset!
